Members’ war room

Three tools. One free account.

All of them are free. The account is not a price — it is where your roster and results live, so they follow you between devices instead of vanishing with the tab. Everything else on this page needs no account at all. The tools live together on Member Tools.

01 · Combo Generator

Tell it your heroes. Get your army.

Pick the heroes you own and the Generator shows which of 1,393 published lineups you can field — complete listed trios first, near-misses after, and the missing hero that finishes more of those lists. Then the army builder packs your best five in-game rows under the plan you choose: Class, three Legions and the Defensive Queue, no hero used twice.

  • Roster saved to your account — open it on any device
  • Six army plans — recommended, offensive, defensive, balanced, no Mixed, and one of each troop type
  • Share any roster with one short link

02 · Combo Simulator

Your formation against theirs. 2,000 battles decide.

Pick any two formations — yours against an enemy’s, shared heroes welcome — and the engine fights them 2,000 times on the server, reading every skill card: damage, legion buffs, all nine control effects, healing, prep. The verdict comes back as three outcomes — win, loss and draw — with the margin of error drawn on the result, never hidden behind it.

  • Every battle on level ground — account power stripped away
  • Per-hero averages: kills, skills, healing, survivors
  • Honest about its limits, on the page, above the results

03 · Combo Rater

Is your idea any good? Score it on the real card.

Give it any three heroes — including combinations on no published list — and it returns the actual scorecard: the score out of 100, where that score would rank, the eleven checks it passed or failed, and which hero’s skill feeds which. Or point it at your whole roster and it scores every trio you can field and hands back your ten strongest, plus the best lineup in each category.

  • The eleven-check scorecard on any trio you type in
  • Your whole roster scored in seconds: 40 heroes is 9,880 trios
  • Every weakness named in plain words, weakest check first

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I use the Combo Generator?

Open the Combo Generator and select the heroes you own. It compares them against 1,393 ranked combos and shows the best matches — complete combos first, near-misses after that, plus the most valuable heroes to unlock next. Your selection saves to your free account automatically, so it follows you between devices.

What does the Combo Simulator do?

The Combo Simulator fields any two 3-hero formations against each other — yours against an enemy's, shared heroes welcome — and fights them 2,000 times on our servers, reading every skill card: damage, legion buffs, all nine control effects, healing and prep. The verdict always ships with its 95% confidence interval, and every battle is fought on level ground: identical troops both sides, with dragons, research, equipment and artifacts stripped away, so you are comparing formations, not wallets. It is honest about its limits on the page — the percentage is a structural comparison, not a predicted win rate.

What is the Combo Rater?

The Combo Rater works two ways. Give it one trio — any three heroes, including combinations that appear on no published list — and it returns the scorecard: the score out of 100, where that score would rank, the eleven checks it passed or failed, which hero carries it and which hero's skill feeds which. Or give it your whole roster and it scores every trio you can field — 40 heroes is 9,880 combinations, done in seconds — then hands back your ten strongest plus the best lineup in each category. The number it prints is the same scorecard as the ranked lists.

What are the Member Tools?

Member Tools is where the three tools live: the Combo Generator (which published lineups can I field?), the Combo Simulator (who wins?) and the Combo Rater (how good is this?). All three are free — the account exists so your roster and results follow you between devices, not as a paywall. You can read the hub page itself without an account.

How do I fill all five rows — Class, Legion 1, 2, 3 and the Defensive Queue?

In game you field five sets at once, and a hero can only stand in one of them. So your five strongest combos usually can't all be played together — they share heroes. Select your heroes and the army builder works out the best five lineups that use no hero twice: Class down to Legion 3 under whichever army plan you pick, then the Defensive Queue, which takes the highest-scoring lineup still left on your bench from any troop type. Fifteen different heroes is the minimum, though not always enough on its own: the five lineups have to be legal and share nobody, so a roster of 15–17 can leave a row unfilled. The builder says so when it happens, and names the reason.

Can my opponent field the same heroes I use?

Yes. A hero belongs to an account, so two players can each own Attila — and the Simulator supports that, right up to a full mirror match. Within one formation a hero still holds exactly one row, and one account's five in-game rows never reuse a hero, which is why the army builder keeps its lineups strictly separate.

What are the best Rise of Castles hero combos?

Based on the current rankings: Cavalry — Cyrus · Saladin · Zhao Yun; Archer — Robin Hood · Zhuge Liang · Oliver; Footmen — Geraint · Alberich · Zhao Yun; Mixed — Thorven · Penthesilea · Thorvi. See the full ranked lists, or read how the rankings are made — every score is provable from the heroes' own skill text.

What combo categories are included?

Cavalry, Archer, Footmen, and Mixed hero combos — 1,393 ranked lineups across 131 heroes.

Why do the tools need an account?

So your work can follow you — not because anything is paid. The account is free and takes under a minute: it keeps your hero roster synced across devices, powers share links, gives the Simulator somewhere to keep your matchups, and lets the Combo Rater score the roster you already saved. There is no paid tier on ROCMeta and nothing is held back for one. Everything else on the site — every ranked list, hero page, guide and the methodology — is readable without an account at all.

Does ROCMeta.com store my hero list?

Yes, after you create an account. Your current hero selection saves automatically to your account so it works across devices—there is no separate save step. A public share link stores only the selected hero IDs needed to open that selection. See the privacy policy.

Is ROCMeta.com free?

Yes — it's a free, fan-made tool for Rise of Castles players. Every members' tool is free too — see Member Tools. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official Rise of Castles game publisher.
